During every semester there are a lot of student events: international food fest, movie evenings, sledging, sauna days etc. The definite highlights of each semester are Spring and Autumn Students Days. Tartu offers plenty of opportunities for sports: the university sports hall, several well-equipped gyms and fitness clubs, squash and tennis courts, bowling clubs, swimming pools.
For those with talent there is Tartu Academic Male Choir, Tartu University Chamber Choir, Folk Art Ensemble of the University of Tartu, Tartu Student Theatre. Find what works for you!
Spring and Autumn Student Days, filled with dozens of entertaining and educating events, competitions and festivals.
Spring Days are held at the end of April, early May. During one week about 80 events are organised. The most popular events are boat race on the river Emajõgi, the race of self-made vehicles and the Night Song Festival. Numerous parties outside or in pubs and clubs take place.
Autumn Days are similar to the Spring Days but they are held in October and the emphasis is on indoor activities. Competition for the best student film and the best student band are held.
Tartu offers a variety of opportunities to exercise, whether you are a serious athlete or simply want to stay fit and have fun. Water centers has many swimming pools, slides and saunas. There are several well-equipped gyms and fitness clubs in town that offer classes on yoga, step, aerobics, etc. Numerous tennis, badminton and squashcourts, stadiums, sports halls and bowling clubs provide opportunities for active recreation. If you prefer outdoor activities, you can take up canoeing along the river, go horseback riding or simply enjoy a walk in one of the numerous parks.
University of Tartu Academic Sports Club has been the most successful athletics club in Estonia for over 100 years. The classes take place in the University's sports buildings, such as the sports hall (Ujula St. 4), stadium and gym (Staadioni St. 21), gyms for wrestling, gymnastics and general purpose (Jakobi St. 5, Lai St. 37 and Nooruse St. 9), Emajõe rowing base (Ranna tee 1). There is also a Fitness club (in Estonian) that offers different aerobic lessons from Zumba to Bodypump and a gym. The Club offers discounts to students.
There are also many other fitness centers and sports clubs all around Tartu that you can join.

International students are constantly organizing football and basketball trainings. They also take part in local competitions.
