In 2024, the 105th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The atmosphere and decorations of the ball were inspired by the elegance of the 1920s. The musical part of the evening was provided by the University of Tartu Symphony Orchestra, the University of Tartu Folk Art Ensemble, and the bands Tailor Made and Trad.Attack!.

In 2023, the 104th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The main performer of the ball was Anne Veski. In addition, Margit Tali and the band, the Tartu University Symphony Orchestra, and the Tartu University Folk Art Ensemble performed.

The 103rd anniversary of the National University was celebrated in 2022. At the ball, Estraadiraadio filled the evening with upbeat dance music, with the always brilliant Kaire Vilgats and Ott Lepland as soloists.

In the jubilee year of the National University, a party was held at the Estonian National Museum and was entitled “Roots of the Future”. The title was about traditions and innovation, past and future, and for this occasion, director Tanel Jonas created a short play with the same title, which told the story of both the university and the Estonian people, because higher education in Estonian is the basis of our culture.

During the evening, actors and musicians performed: Adeele Jaago, Kaarel Targo, Jaanus Tepomees, the ensemble Riffarrica, Lauri Liiv and Sofia Rubina, Jarek Kasar and Tõnis Mägi, and the University of Tartu Symphony Orchestra, chamber choir and folk dancers. The evening was hosted by Saara Pius and Priit Loog.

In 2018, the 99th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The main performer of the ball was Sissi Nylia Benita! In addition, the University of Tartu Symphony Orchestra will perform at the ball.

In 2017, the 98th anniversary of the National University was celebrated. At that time, the anniversary ball was part of the "Estonia 100" celebrations. The ball was directed by Lennart Peep, and featured performances by Robin Juhkental & The Big Bangers, the University of Tartu Symphony Orchestra, traditional musicians from the University of Tartu's Viljandi Cultural Academy, a mixed folk dance group, and DJ Harlet Orasmaa.

In 2016, the 97th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The theme of the ball was “International National University”, which focused on different nationalities and their integration. The director was Peep Maasik, and the performers were the Tanel Padar Blues Band and the Tartu University Symphony Orchestra.

In 2015, the 96th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The theme of the ball was “New Winds”, which focused on higher education reform, the merger of disciplines and changes in society. The event was directed by Helena Kesonen and Karl Sakrits. The performances included Duo Malva & Kirsipu, the Tartu University Symphony Orchestra, the Rockin'Lady & her Rivertown Boys ensemble, and Tanja Mihhailova and Mikk Saar with Swingers.

In 2014, the 95th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The theme of the ball was “Through History”, focusing on both the past and the present, inspired by the fact that the mother tongue university was celebrating its anniversary. The performances included the Tartu Student Theatre, the Tartu University Symphony Orchestra, the ensemble The Made, and Tanja Mihhailova and Karl-Erik Taukar with the Swingers.

In 2013, the 94th anniversary of the national university was celebrated. The Tartu University Symphony Orchestra, Big Band Tartu with Gerli Padar and Aivar Tomminga, Non-Quartet and Kristi Timmer with Karl-Madis Pennar performed.
